Designing Desert Dazey Palm Springs House – To the homeowner, designer and style icon Dani Dazey, this outdoor space felt overwhelming, full of dead space, and "basically unusable" for much of the year due to extreme sun and wind in the summer and cold during winter nights. Elizabeth started by defining a series of vignettes throughout the space to break up the great expanse and make it more functional. She solved the sun problem by creating a flex space with a shade structure and comfy outdoor lounge furniture – effectively increasing the feel of square footage on the property. She addressed the winter cold by creating a fire pit area featuring a stunning midcentury modern inspire fire place in Dazey's signature orange color. Adding dining area completed the space.
Client Vibe and Color Palette: A Colorful Palm Springs Retreat – Dani Dazey is know for her maximialist style and love of color. This backyard design was no exception. They leaned heavily on the Desert Dazey House signature orange color in furniture and created hand-painted murals on the concrete for an additional pop.
